Jenna Coleman recently spoke to The Hollywood Reporter where she admitted that she has heard about all those demands for a Constantine spin-off after she played the exorcist in The Sandman. Interestingly, Coleman pointed out that Neil Gaiman has already shared the idea with her. “I have, from Neil himself!” she said. Coleman then shared how she was convinced to portray the character in the Netflix series. “One of the reasons that I wanted to do it was that the character felt so formed, and what was really thoughtful of Neil and Allan [Heinberg] is that they sent the script over to me, but they didn’t tell me who the character was,” she explained.

“So I didn’t know it was Constantine when I read it,” Coleman continued. “So I formed my own thoughts about who this person was without having any preconceptions of Constantine before, which was really smart. But yeah, Neil filled me in. He and Allan are really behind it. They seem to think it would be a good idea.” It’s certainly an awesome idea and one that could guarantee multiple versions of the character in the future. After all, it has already been confirmed that a Constantine sequel is in the works with Keanu Reeves returning as the exorcist. With that in mind, we can’t wait to see more Constantines soon. But what about The Sandman Season 2? Jenna Coleman admitted that she heard that “talks are going ahead at the moment.” Hopefully, we’ll get an official announcement soon.
