The update comes from Twitter user DBSChronicles, who shared a look at one of the storyboards for Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero. According to the Dragon Ball enthusiast, the screening in Japan shared the original schedule with fans, and fans noticed that Gohan’s new form has a different name.

The document reveals that Gohan’s new form was called “Final Gohan” rather than “Gohan Beast”. However, it looks like Toei Animation decided to change the name at some point during developements, or it might have been a temporary codename referencing Gohan’s new power boost, but by the time the theatrical cut was complete, the name was ultimately changed to “Gohan Beast”. If you’ve already seen the major spoilers, you’d already know that Gohan will unleash this new transformation against Cell Max, the most powerful entity created by the newly-revived Red Ribbon Army. Here’s the official synopsis for Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero courtesy of Crunchyroll: Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero was released in Japanese theaters on June 11, and it’s set to arrive in the U.S. and the U.K. on August 19.
