Sadie Sink’s Max joined Stranger Things in Season 2, and was the new girl from California, who goes to Will, Eleven, Mike, Lucas, and Dustin’s school. She quickly became friends with the others, getting introduced to the mysteries of the Upside Down and all the happenings in Hawkins. Although Sink’s character was introduced in Season 2, it wasn’t until Season 4 that Sink’s character got to shine. Her performance in the show was central to the season, especially with her facing Vecna while the others help her in escaping the creature using Kate Bush’s “Running Up That Hill” song.

Recently, Sink told Fashion Magazine about the casting process that she went through to join the series, saying that she had to beg for the role. She revealed that when she auditioned for Season 2, the casting directors were quite hesitant to cast her because of her “old” age of 14.

Sink said that she begged them to give her another chance, feeling that Max was the “right” part for her. The producers then grants her wish and called her in for a chemistry read with McLaughlin and Matarazzo. The next day, she found out that she’d gotten the Max role.

“I just begged and pleaded with them to give me more material so I could show them something fresh," Sink said during the interview.

Stranger Things Season 4 Part 1 and Part 2 are available to stream on Netflix. As of now, Stranger Things Season 5 still doesn’t have an official release window.
