Sadly, they would have to go against the spine-chilling villain without the help of Eddie Munson (Joseph Quinn), who faced a tragic demise in Stranger Things Season 4.
Several theories surfaced including Karen Wheeler’s suspected connection to Vecna. However, Stranger Things star Maya Hawke – who plays Robin Buckley in the Netflix hit theorized how Eddie can bizarrely return in the finale.“I totally sympathize with fans who want to see more of him,” Hawke told NME. “I feel like we can’t keep killing people and bringing them back to life – the same fans would be so annoyed! But I would love them to find a way to have Eddie’s ghost in the mix, just because Joe Quinn is such an awesome guy. He’s so much fun to have on set and such a great actor.”Fans undoubtedly loved Eddie in the latest season, but it appears that the whole cast was also delighted to have Quinn in the show after almost all of them wanted his character to return. Regarding Hawke’s comment about Eddie’s possible return, Quinn totally supports this idea too. “Me and Joe Keery were discussing ways in which I could kind of…maybe I’d be like a figment of Gaten’s imagination or something,” he said. “Like if there could be some kind of room for something like that, something a bit supernatural,” Quinn told RadioTimes. After Billy Hargrove’s (Dacre Montgomery) death in Stranger Things Season 3, the character still returned through Max’s (Sadie Sink) memories. If ever the Duffer Brothers pull off the same approach for Eddie, fans would absolutely love it. Following his tragic death in Volume 2, some fans have even signed a petition to bring back the character in the finale. Hopefully, while Quinn’s return remains a mystery, the gang must slay Vecna to take revenge for Eddie’s death and take back Hawkins.Stranger Things Season 4 is available to stream on Netflix. Also read: Stranger Things: Eddie Munson Real-Life Inspiration Reacts to Season 4 Storyline
