Specifically, the whole manga series is available on the Shonen Jump digital vault, as announced on the service’s official Twitter account. Thanks to this, fans can now read the full manga without having to buy each volume. However, this is not a free service like Manga Plus, as fans must have a subscription to access the digital vault that features a range of manga titles.
Hunter x Hunter Returns From Hiatus
The series’ return from its hiatus was big news earlier this week, especially considering that Hunter x Hunter has been on hiatus since late 2018 – its longest hiatus to date. In case you need a refresher, Hunter x Hunter is a manga series by Yoshihiro Togashi, the creator of Yu Yu Hakusho. After Hunter x Hunter started serialization in 1998, the series became a big hit. As of July 2022, the series has over 84 million copies in circulation. Aside from big sales numbers, the series has also been adapted into several anime. First is a TV anime by Nippon Animation that ran from 1999 to 2001, followed by an OVA series from 2002 to 2004 by the same studio. In 2011, another TV anime adaptation was produced, this time by Madhouse which ran for 148 episodes. While the manga was published at a regular pace in its initial years, Togashi has gone on extended breaks over the later years due to health issues. Specifically, starting in 2005, Hunter x Hunter has gone on hiatus multiple times. Earlier this year, Togashi made an official Twitter account where he posts regular updates about the manga’s status, indicating an imminent return. Now, the series is coming back, complete with an upcoming volume release.
