Patrick Gibson, Jack Wolfe, Anna Leong Brophy, and Lewis Tan personally introduced their characters on Shadow and Bone Season 2 during Netflix TUDUM as Nikolai Lantsov, Wylan Hendriks, Tamar Kir-Battar, and Tolya Yul-Battar respectively. Joining them are Jessie Mei Li as Alina Starkov and Ben Barnes as General Kirigan/the Darkling as they unveil the sneak peek of Shadow and Bone Season 2 teasing the story of what once was lore. The Sun Summoner continues her journey as The Darkling looms in vengeance. Fan-favorites from the book are Wylan who is a demolitions expert, Nikolai is a known ally of Alina and Mal, and the twins, Tolya and Tamar, are both Heartrender Grishas.

The Grishaverse’s Shadow and Bone made its way on Netflix and with a first season successful, enough to build their own fan base, people now follow those with magical abilities called a “Grisha” and for one orphan who became a cartographer, her life changed when her powers came into existence. The myths include the Sun Summoner, the only one who could counter the lingering darkness of the Fold, a vast dark cloud encompassing through the countries and separating them, with dangerous monsters inside. As it turns out, The Darkling is General Kirigan! Also joining the abovementioned cast are Archie Renaux as Mal Oretsov, Danielle Gilligan as Nina Zenik, Amita Suman as Inej Ghafa, Freddy Carter as Kaz Brekker, Kit Young as Jesper Fahey, Calahan Skogman as Matthias Helvar, Sujaya Dasgupta as Zoya Nazyalensk, and Julian Kostov as Fedyor. There is no official release date yet for Shadow and Bone Season 2 but it is confirmed to come out in 2023.
