The three books were 1981’s Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark, 1984’s More Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark, and 1991‘s Scary Stories 3: More Tales to Chill Your Bones. The film revolves around a group of young teenagers who break into the old and abandoned Bellow mansion, where one of them eventually steals the haunted notebook of Sarah Bellows, a young girl who turned her tortured life into stories she wrote on her notebook. As all the horrors from the notebook come to life, it is up to the teens to break the curse to keep their loved ones, and themselves alive.
