Speaking recently with ComicBook, Alexandra Daddario shared her thoughts about the upcoming Disney+ adaptation and recalled the experience of being part of the film installment.

“It’s wonderful. That movie was so great for my career. It was great for my life," Daddario said. “It was a wonderful part to play and I’m so excited for her that she gets to play it. The Percy Jackson books are so beloved. I was just a small part of it,”

Daddario portrayed the role of Annabeth Chase for two full-length films, Percy Jackson and the Olympians: The Lightning Thief and Percy Jackson: Sea of Monsters.

The Baywatch star feels delighted that she still gets associated with the daughter of the goddess Athena, “It was a long time ago, and I still get recognized for it!”

Daddario hopes that the new series adaptation will receive the same amount of love that the previous installment has received over the years. She noted that Percy Jackson has always been a good effect to its younger audience.

“I’m really excited about the series and I hope people love it. I now have stepchildren, and you realize [shows like Percy Jackson] get kids into reading. It gets kids thinking. It gets them understanding about what it is to be different and to struggle with things.” explained the Mayfair Witches actress.

In the Disney+’s production, 13-year-old actor Walker Scobell will play Percy Jackson for the new generation. To complete the main trio of the sea and underground saga, he will be accompanied by Aryan Simhadri as Grover Underwood and Leah Sava Jeffries as Annabeth Chase.

No actors from the original movies will return for the series and that includes Daddario. In November, creator Rick Riordan communicated that he intended to-rebrand the series and give it an entirely different building that’s why everything will be new and fresh.

Percy Jackson and the Olympians series is expected to arrive sometime in 2024.
