About One Piece Film: Red
One Piece Film: Red was first revealed on November 21, 2021, and it offers a new story from Eiichiro Oda’s amazing mind. Fans will undoubtedly like One Piece Film: Red when it debuts, thanks to Oda’s active engagement as executive producer, character designer, and script reviewer. Goro Taniguchi will also direct One Piece Film: Red, which will be his second collaboration with the series after One Piece: Defeat the Pirate Ganzaki in 1998. According to Oda, Goro Taniguchi was the first person who ever animated Luffy. Toei Animation has revealed that the new feature will be part of the series’ 1000th episode anniversary. The script will be written by Tsutomu Kuroiwa, who previously worked on One Piece Film: Gold. Interestingly, the script for One Piece Film: Red has been in development for over two years! To make the sequences more compelling to the audience, the film will combine 2D and 3D CGI. One Piece Film: Red, dubbed “the Shanks movie” by fans, focuses on the new character Uta, the world’s most popular diva. Luffy and the Straw Hats, along with other pirates and the Marines, descend on the island to hear her otherworldly voice after she announces her first public concert in Elegia, the island of music. However, things will take a sharp turn as Uta’s secret identity as Red-Haired Shanks’ daughter is revealed!

Is One Piece Film: Red Canon?
One Piece Film: Red, like the previous 14 films in the series, will be a standalone story with no direct connection to the series. As a result, it will most likely not be referenced in the original canon series. However, One Piece Film: Red contains a crucial plot element involving Red-Haired Shanks. After the recent success of the canon Demon Slayer and Jujutsu Kaisen films, it will not be surprising if One Piece ventures into uncharted territory as well. Fans expected One Piece Film: Red to not be canon in terms of timeline, but to reveal some new canon information about Shanks.
