Thanks to Vanity Fair, which recently profiled the upcoming series ahead of its release this fall, we now have our first-look images of Catherine Zeta-Jones, Luis Guzman, and Isaac Ordonez in their respective roles of Morticia Addams, Gomez Addams, and Pugsley Addams on Wednesday.
While the series is set in the present day, the characters are still sporting their iconic costumes with Morticia’s signature vampire chic look, Gomez’s fancy prisoner pin-stripes, and Pugsley’s horizontal stripes sweatshirt and short pants.
However, one notable member of the family who is missing in the photo is Uncle Fester, whose casting is being kept under wraps by the producers of the series. “We have no comment on Uncle Fester. Just watch the show,” co-creator Alfred Gough told the outlet in the interview.
The series is “a sleuthing, supernaturally infused mystery charting Wednesday Addams’ years as a student at Nevermore Academy. Wednesday’s attempts to master her emerging psychic ability, thwart a monstrous killing spree that has terrorized the local town, and solve the supernatural mystery that embroiled her parents 25 years ago — all while navigating her new and very tangled relationships at Nevermore.”
The cast also includes Christina Ricci, Gwendoline Christie, Riki Lindhome, Jamie McShane, Percy Hynes White, Hunter Doohan, Georgie Farmer, Moosa Mostafa, Emma Myers, Naomi J. Ogawa, Joy Sunday, Victor Dorobantu, and George Burcea. Tim Burton serves as executive producer and directed four episodes of the first season.
