As reported by Anime News Network, this iconic shonen anime series will leave Netflix next month, meaning all nine seasons featuring over 200 episodes will no longer be available on the platform.
While it seems that Shippuden won’t be affected in regions where it’s available on Netflix, the full pre-time skip series is confirmed to leave. On Netflix, the original Naruto is divided into nine seasons, with each season being divided into 25 to 29 episodes. Meanwhile, the ninth season only has eight episodes. In case you’re unfamiliar though, Naruto is an anime series by Pierrot that’s based on the manga of the same name by Masashi Kishimoto. The manga ran in Weekly Shonen Jump from September 1999 to November 2014. Currently, it is one of the bestselling manga of all time with over 250 million copies in circulation. Given its popularity, the series received a sequel in Boruto: Naruto Next Generations. This manga’s story is set over a decade after the events of the original.

Though it’s possible that the series will return to Netflix in the future as it has done so before. According to What’s on Netflix, Naruto was removed from the platform back in November 2018, though five seasons were added a day later. After months, the four other seasons were added on September 1, 2019. Based on the reports, there’s no official word from Netflix on which regions the show will be removed. Though the US is likely among the regions where the show will leave. Alongside Naruto, Bleach the Movie: Fade to Black and Bleach the Movie: Hell Verse will also be removed.
