Here’s What Happened Before More Than a Married Couple, But Not Lovers Episode 11
The episode started with Jirou, Kamo, Shiori, and Mei on the beach making a sand castle. Shiori suggested that they should make a tunnel through the sand castle. All the while, Jirou was mesmerized by how beautiful Shiori looked in her swimsuit. Shiori recalled how they used to make tunnels when they were kids and it was time to relive those moments. Meanwhile, Akari, who was watching them from a distance, was getting jealous that Shiori and Jirou were getting all lovey-dovey on the beach. Later, Akari and Jirou were tasked to go shopping for their needs at the house. Akari complained that it will be boring because they were always together, and Jirou was sorry that they got paired again. At the marketplace, they were shocked to see only boy-girl pairs shopping. Jirou commented that being in a place filled with normies was getting old. As it turns out, it was the Couple’s Discount day and the rush was because of the discounts. Akari then suggested they should use it too, but Jirou countered that they were not a couple. Akari stated that, as a married couple, they can make use of the discount offers. At one of the takeouts, they found out that couples can upgrade the size of their food at no extra charge. The shopkeeper even told Jirou that he was lucky to have a girlfriend like Akari. Later, Akari told Jirou that he needed to be more enthusiastic to make their mock marriage look real. She added that Minami would have done it if he were in his place. Suddenly, the shopkeeper called Jirou and Akari’s order number and asked Akari to stay back. When he returned with the order, he could not find Akari. Then, Akari was shown with two random beach boys. Jirou was shocked to see them together. He appeared before them and one of the boys asked Akari for her name. They said they tried asking but she was not willing to give her name. Jirou could sense that Akari was uncomfortable, so he mustered up the courage and asked the boys to back off because she was feeling uncomfortable around them. The boys started teasing Jirou and asked him if he was after her too. Jirou then embraced Akari and announced that she was his wife. Akari was moved by Jirou who started apologizing for calling her his wife in public. But she told him not to feel sorry. Back at the community housing where the students were staying, Shiori asked Mei how she did not get sunburned. Mei revealed that she rubbed some oil and that took care of it. Then, Shiori touched Mei and the latter quickly changed the topic. Shiori revealed that she put on sunblock but it didn’t work. Mei was blushing and kept thinking about the touch as they entered the public bath with the other girls. Sachi, Natsumi, and Akari were in the bath discussing their ongoing marriages. Specifically, Natsumi and Sachi were talking about Jirou. Sachi and Natsumi then asked Mei and Shiori to join them and talk about their relationships. Mei went on to give a mature take on the relationship, and Sachi and Natsumi couldn’t stop praising her. In the meantime, Akari and Shiori ended up talking with each other but it was an awkward moment for them both. Shiori told Akari that she didn’t join the conversation because of a lack of experience. Akari couldn’t believe her and complimented her cute persona. However, she agreed with Shiori that it was difficult to jump into such a conversation. Later, Akari and Jirou ran into each other outside the public bath. Suddenly, Sachi and Natsumi appeared before them and Jirou panicked. In order to play it cool, he started behaving differently with him. Later in the evening, Akari and Jirou were together at the beach and eventually got into an argument. At that moment, Akari unzipped her jacket and revealed the bikini she promised she would wear only for Jirou. She told him that she was looking forward to this moment. But there was still some misunderstanding between them. Jirou confessed that he felt that being around a plain, boring guy like him was embarrassing for her, but Akari countered that who she hangs out with is none of anybody’s business. Jirou continued to mumble about how it was still embarrassing for her, so Akari instantly pulled him toward her and asked why he has to say such things at this moment. She wanted him to look at her like he does back home when they are alone. Akari also said she hates the fact that they are not a married couple outside the house. She added that she hates it when he acts cold or calls her by her last name and that she felt bad when he was talking with other girls since he wasn’t her husband anymore. Jirou said that the things Akari was feeling were close to that of a jealous girlfriend. Akari started blushing and tried to avoid his argument.
