Marvel released its first ever Halloween special in October, titled Werewolf by Night. It focuses on a comic character named Jack Russell, aka Werewolf by Night, who is a literal werewolf. Gael Garcia Bernal stars in the title role. The special received positive reviews from fans and critics. which may be the reason the studios will develop more alike.
Twitter scooper Daniel Ritchman revealed in his latest Patreon post that two more untitled Halloween specials based on new characters are being developed at the studios, which are also expected to be under Disney Plus. In The Cosmic Circus’ previous report, the MCU’s Phases 5 and 6 may introduce more new Marvel monsters as the franchise gets more involved with the monstrous side of the comics.

Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige told IGN in October that monsters have the potential to be an integral part of the MCU, and they have already begun to demonstrate this significance by releasing Werewolf by Night. Fans can anticipate that there will be more from the department.
He said, “We’re introducing a world that will ultimately become quite important to the future of the MCU… we wanted to explore entirely new characters and entirely new sides of the MCU with this unusual, fun, and frightening spin on the supernatural.”
Werewolf by Night executive producer Brian Gay also previously confirmed that some of the monsters that appeared in the special will show up in the future, although he did not reveal when or where their return can be expected.
“Well, we don’t know exactly where they’ll pop up next, the idea is that, with this wide swath of different species and types, they’re going to pop up again. You’re going to see these guys in different ways, of course.” he shared.

Given that no titles or characters have been revealed yet, the studios have a lot of choice from their massive roster of heroes and villains. In October, Buzzfeed penned a list of Marvel characters who deserve their own Halloween special given their distinct freakiness.
