According to reporter Jeff Sneider, the current script of Blade is roughly around 90 pages and features two “lackluster” action sequences. He also revealed that its star Mahershala Ali is feeling “very frustrated” with the process of making the film. Marvel Studios head Kevin Feige is said to be spreading “too thin” regarding his involvement in the project. It is interesting to hear these alleged details about what is happening behind the scenes during the pre-production of the film as it is an indication that Marvel Studios might be in trouble with the project, which is not a good sign since the film is supposed to release next year.

The Hollywood Reporter’s report on Tariq’s exit also shed some light on the status of the project where they revealed that the start of production date has shifted more than once and the script has gone several rewrites with Moon Knight writer Beau DeMayo working in the current iteration. Marvel Studios is also already searching for a new director. The fate of Blade is now a huge question mark after hearing all of this information regarding its current status. With the change of new director and the potential shift of filming date looming, it is likely that it won’t be able to make its release next year. Let’s just wait and see for more updates regarding the progress of this project as well as whether some of the players who were hired prior to Tariq’s exit will still remain in the project with the upcoming shift in the director’s chair.
