It turns out that the Han Solo actor has already signed on for the film which would see some of the MCU’s top-tier villains come together in what’s being described as Marvel Studios’ own version of The Suicide Squad.Apparently, Kevin Feige was set to announce Ford’s casting during the studio’s presentation at D23 Expo 2022 and it forced Lucasfilm boss Kathleen Kennedy to “put her foot down”. Appearing on The Hot Mic podcast, The Ankler insider Jeff Sneider claims that Kennedy blocked Marvel Studios from making the announcement because she wanted the focus to be on Ford’s fifth Indiana Jones film, and revealing him as the newest member of the MCU roster could have overshadowed the film’s D23 presentation.Also Read: Star Wars Legend Harrison Ford Rumored to Play Major MCU Character in 2024 FilmJust days before D23, it was speculated that Harrison would be involved in the Fantastic Four reboot to play Sue and Johnny Storm’s father Franklin and while that would have been an interesting role for him to portray, there’s no denying that becoming the Red Hulk in Thunderbolts is a much bigger deal.Marvel Studios’ Thunderbolts is scheduled to be released in theaters on July 26, 2024.
