With Lucasfilm’s success in their animated series of Star Wars: Tales of the Jedi, there is no question that a mystery collaboration with Studio Ghibli will likely prove to be another successful franchise. While there are no specific news as to what project Lucasfilm and Studio Ghibli will be collaborating on, fans are speculating they are working on an animated Star Wars universe movie with the application of Ghibli’s signature art style. The Disney+ series Star Wars: Vision was initially brought into a Japanese style animation where several anime studios got to tell original, non-canon stories in the Star Wars universe, which led the series to lean on the unique animation style that was deemed to be memorable to fans. Kamikaze Douga, Studio Colorido, Geno Studio, and Trigger were part of the said show.
Lucasfilm did previously confirm a second season for Star Wars: Visions during Star Wars Celebration 2022 and is set to be released in Spring 2023. Could this be it? Could this be the project Studio Ghibli is pointing at?
