According to a report from The Hollywood Reporter regarding Warner Bros.’ current plans for the DC franchise, Gunn and producer Peter Safran are currently in talks with Warner Bros. for a secret DC movie project and possibly more. However, they didn’t mention any specific details regarding it. They also noted that, if the project does end up being pushed through, it might take a while before we’ll see it come to fruition since Gunn is going to work on the second season of Peacemaker first before the secret project.
It is exciting to hear that Gunn remains involved in the franchise. While The Suicide Squad didn’t do well at the box office, it did receive praise from critics and the audience. Meanwhile, Peacemaker became a huge success when it debuted on HBO Max earlier this year. This is also a sign that Gunn will be more involved in the DC franchise in the future after Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 releases next year where he is currently working on its post-production at the moment. It is curious to see which DC property will the director tackle on that secret project whether it’s a character that we already met in The Suicide Squad and Peacemaker or a brand new one that they haven’t introduced. Either way, it is exciting to find out all the details in the coming future. Also Read: J.J.
