House of the Dragon has been slowly inching towards the civil war that would almost destroy House Targaryen, and we won’t be expecting to see the Dance of the Dragons in the first season. After all, the Game of Thrones prequel has been renewed for a second season and George R.R. Martin claims that the show should last at least four seasons. So maybe we won’t see the epic dragon clashes in House of the Dragon Season 2 but Ryan Condal does confirm that there are a lot of battles to see in the second season.

“We will get to the spectacle,” the showrunner told The Times (via Deadline). “But you have to understand these people’s complexities before they’re thrown into war. Series Two will hit the rhythms people came to expect from the middle run of Game of Thrones, but it will have been earned, and viewers will feel the tragedies because we put the work in.” The Dance of the Dragons isn’t happening yet in House of the Dragon Season 2 but fans will get enough time to understand just how the civil war managed to almost destroy Westeros. The latest episode of House of the Dragon is now available on HBO Max. House of the Dragon Episode 10 is titled The Black Queen and will premiere on HBO on Sunday, October 23, 2022, at 9:00 PM EST.
