Despite No Way Home feeling like a massive pipe dream come to life, that’s not to say that it didn’t have its fair share of issues, be it storywise or the decent-ish CGI but it’s still a pretty enjoyable flick. However, it turns out that one actor found the Marvel Studios and Sony Pictures project a bit underwhelming and she’s not at all shy to rip apart arguably the most ambitious crossover film in comic book movie history. Game of Thrones star Maisie Williams recently spoke with the Frank Film Club podcast to share her grievances about No Way Home which she described as her “biggest film disappointment.“The New Mutants star said: “My biggest film disappointment was the new ‘Spider-Man’. Not ‘Far From Home’. They all have really similar titles. But it just wasn’t my fave. They had Benedict Cumberbatch come in and play Doctor Strange. And then they had the three Spider-Men all together. It was that one.“The Arya Stark actress added that she felt like the studios were just too excited to put all three Spidey actors together in a film that lacked soul. “And I feel like they were just so excited to get them all on screen together that it just missed a little bit of the soul. But I love this new reboot and I will watch the next one. But it was just a little bit disappointing.I just think that they started exploring so much. Like, I was so with these characters. Just above it being Spider-Man, I was loving the journey of each film. But this one felt like it was lacking just a little bit.“Also Read: Tom Holland’s Spider-Man 4 Reportedly Set for 2024 ReleaseNo offense to Williams but I think she’s in no position to critic a superhero film, especially considering her first and only outing so far failed to hit the mark with fans and critics. While No Way Home wasn’t a perfect film overall, the idea that Holland, Maguire, and Garfield came together in one colossal crossover project definitely makes up for its evident flaws. Spider-Man: No Way Home is currently available to stream on Netflix.
