Netflix’s new anime follows David, a street kid trying to survive in a technology and body modification-obsessed city of the future known as Night City. Having everything to lose, he chooses to stay alive by becoming an edgerunner – a mercenary outlaw also known as cyberpunk - after he meets a mysterious hacker named Lucy. He will be fighting Night City’s most notorious criminals and cyber-psychods in his mission to become a so-called legend. Cyberpunk: Edgerunners will have a total of ten 30-minute episodes, and the anime was directed by Hiroyuki Imaishi (Gurren Lagann, Kill la Kill, Promare). Yoh Yoshinari is the anime’s character designer and animation director, and the following are newly-announced staff members: Hiromi Wakabayashi (Kill la Kill, Promare) as the creative director, Masahiko Otsuka (Star Wars: Visions ‘The Elder’) and Yoshiki Usa (SSSS.Gridman, SSSS.Dynazenon creative director) as the scriptwriters, Hiroyuki Kaneko as the assistant director, Yūto Kaneko and Yusuke Yoshigaki as assistant character designers, and Akira Yamaoka (Silent Hill games) as music composer.
