During the D23 Expo in Anaheim, California, Captain Marvel star Brie Larson teases a bit of sneak peeks on what to expect in 2023’s The Marvels. You can watch the whole interview here. The actor elaborates what it was like working with Iman Vellani, and Larson had nothing but praises for her younger co-star, “She’s the best, she’s the absolute best. Inside and out. I adore her.”
Considering that The Marvels’ official synopsis teased what’s in store for the 3 Captain Marvels, which is dealing with a ‘destabilized universe’ and teaming up together to save the universe, Larson’s description pretty much fits what we got so far: “It’s a converging of a bunch of different things at once, and so you’re following these three incredible characters that have their own trials and tribulations and things to—ways to grow. And then the way that they grow as a team.”
Larson ends the interview by describing what Carol Danvers’ journey would be like in the upcoming Captain Marvel sequel, and surely enough, the actor describes Carol as being a ‘more nuanced’ and ‘more complicated’ character than its first introduction to the MCU.
The Marvels is slated for release in theaters on July 28, 2023. ALSO READ: The Marvels Official Synopsis Confirms It’s a Captain Marvel Sequel With Ms. Marvel and WandaVision Stars
