Recently, the fan art of Hitori got lots of reactions online from fans of both shows. Though it was surprising at first, it makes sense that these two shows got crossover art given how they’re among the biggest hits of the Fall 2022 season.
Bocchi the Rock! And Chainsaw Man Are Among Fall 2022’s Top Titles
In case you’re unfamiliar, Bocchi the Rock! is an anime series by CloverWorks that’s based on the manga series of the same name by Aki Hamaji. The series follows Hitori Gotou, an introverted high school girl who dreams of being in a band. While she is too shy to ask to join a band, she luckily meets Nijika Ijichi, a girl who plays drums and is looking for a new guitarist for her band. Hitori soon joins Nijika’s band alongside other members Ryou Yamada and Ikuyo Kita. Thus begins Hitori’s journey as the lead guitarist of the Kessoku Band. The series’ title is a play on the Japanese phrase “hitori-bocchi” which means alone or lonely. This perfectly reflects the show’s premise. Meanwhile, Chainsaw Man is one of the most popular anime of the season as it is based on the hit manga series of the same name by Tatsuki Fujimoto. The manga was initially serialized in Weekly Shonen Jump, with Part 2 of the series being serialized currently in Jump+. It’s fair to say that the series is the most anticipated anime of the Fall 2022 season. So far, it has not disappointed, as it has drawn plenty of reactions from viewers. Chainsaw Man and Bocchi the Rock! may not have much in common in terms of their story and theme, but as of writing, they are both among this season’s top hits, ranking second and third on MyAnimeList, respectively. Bocchi the Rock! x Chainsaw Man Fan Art
As for the new fan art, it was created by artist @rurushugi on Twitter. Instead of just being a simple Bocchi the Rock! fan art, it actually tells a funny story. The art sees Hitori saving a guitar version of Pochita, though she is soon struck by a speeding truck (which might be a reference to the truck-kun trope in isekai shows). It then seems like the guitar Pochita enters into a contract with Hitori, much like Pochita did with Denji. Thus, Hitori is able to transform into “Guitar Woman” who eerily looks like Chainsaw Man. Though it turns out that this is all Hitori’s dream. Check out the fan art here: Given that both shows are incredibly popular right now, the fan art got a lot of reactions on Twitter. It was also noticed by fans on Reddit, causing it to reach the top of r/ChainsawMan. New episodes of both shows are released every week on Crunchyroll.
