BLACKPINK Scores TIME Magazine’s 2022 Entertainer of the Year
Jennie, Lisa, Rosé, and Jisoo made BLINKs proud again as the four-piece group made history by becoming this year’s 2022 Entertainer of the year. On TIME Magazine’s website, it shared a special article dedicated to the girl group to mark a new milestone in its career. It also detailed the most notable events BLACKPINK experienced this year, including the release of Pink Venom and the launch of the 27-date world tour. BLACKPINK also dropped its highly-anticipated second studio album, Born Pink, in September. It has since become its best-selling album after selling over 2 million copies. The members are also in the middle of the sold-out Born Pink world tour. But Blackpink has managed to become the biggest girl group in the world precisely by allowing its members to be solo stars in their own right,” TIME said. BLACKPINK officially became the second K-pop act to score the title, following BTS, who got it in 2018. Aside from that honor, it also made its way to another list.

BLACKPINK and more K-pop artists appeared in Rolling Stone’s The 100 Best Songs of 2022 list. Its Born Pink scored the No. 35 spot, becoming the newest feat it scored months after it was released in September. The track previously conquered the Circle album Chart, Billboard 200, and Billboard Global 200. Joining BLACKPINK on the magazine’s piece include NewJeans, SEVENTEEN, IVE, Stray Kids, aespa, BTS Jin, NCT 127, BIGBANG, LE SSERAFIM, TWICE’s Nayeon, (G)I-DLE, and PSY (featuring BTS Suga).
