The second movie in the Black Panther franchise takes us back to Wakanda. Though we return without our King, Chadwick Boseman’s memory and legendary performance as T’Challa continues to guide us in spirit as we explore all the other stories in his Kingdom. The first Black Panther movie introduced us to T’Challa, heir to the throne of the Kingdom of Wakanda, who has to return home to claim his rightful place after his father’s death. While T’Challa learns the ropes of ruling a kingdom, a powerful enemy appears in the form of his cousin, Erik Killmonger, the long-lost son of his uncle who was killed while on a mission in the outside world. T’Challa bravely faces all the trials he encounters from the outside and from within, assembling his allies to defeat the forces of evil. With the fate of Wakanda and the safety of the outside world at stake, he stands up to live who he is- T’Challa, King of Wakanda, the Black Panther. However, production had to take a break from November 2021 to January 2022 because of Covid. Black Panther 2 Reshoots
A few weeks before Black Panther: Wakanda Forever premieres, The Direct reports that the cast and crew are reportedly gearing up to reshoot some scenes. Barring any unforeseen events, the second Black Panther movie may hopefully still debut on time.
Black Panther: Wakanda Forever Cast: Who are the Actors Included in the Second Black Panther Movie?
Black Panther: Wakanda Forever will be the first time we return to Wakanda without Chadwick Boseman. Producers and the Executive Team over at Marvel Studios confirmed that the role of T’Challa will not be recast. There are also no plans to use CGI to integrate a digital T’Challa into the film. As for the other cast members, we will see most of the actors from the first movie return. Lupita Nyong’o will reprise her role as War Dog spy Nakia, along with Danai Guriria, who will also reprise her role as Okoye, the leader of the fierce all-female special forces called the Dora Milaje. Winston Duke is also set to return as M’Baku, leader of the Jabari tribe, and there have been reports that his character will play a more significant role in the sequel. We will also see Martin Freeman return as CIA operative Everett K. Ross. In some of his interviews, Freeman told about how apprehensive he was feeling about returning to shoot Black Panther without Chadwick. However, after principal photography had ended, Freeman said he was happy being a part of the film. Angela Basset will also return as the Queen Mother, Ramonda, along with Letitia Wright, who plays Shuri, T’Challa’s younger sister. There will also be new faces introduced in the movie, like Dominique Thorne, who will play the role of Riri Williams, also known as Ironheart. Ironheart is a new Disney+ series, so this may be Marvel’s chance to introduce us to the latest superhero. Michaela Coel was also cast for Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, but her role is still kept under wraps.
Namor the Sub-Mariner
As for the villain of the film, Tenoch Huerta (famous for his role in Narcos: Mexico) was cast as Namor the Sub-Mariner, Scourge of the Seven Seas. We will also see Mabel Cadena play Namora, Namor’s cousin. Kamaru Usman

Michaela Coel is Aneka
We see Michaela Coel as Aneka in the first trailer of Black Panther: Wakanda Forever. In the comic books, Aneka is an important character, first appearing in Black Panther Vol.5 #8. She was a combat instructor for the Dora Milaje and was in a forbidden relationship with Ayo, one of her teammates. After Aneka swore off being Dore Milaje when she suffered what she felt was an injustice from Queen Ramonda, she and Ayo become the Midnight Angels. Aneka was wearing the Midnight Angels uniform in the trailer, which may mean her story was adapted to a certain extent for the movie.

Black Panther: Wakanda Forever Plot: What Will be the Plot of the Movie?
Now that we know that Chadwick’s T’Challa will not be a part of Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, it allows us to explore the other stories that exist in Wakanda. The sequel may take us deeper into Wakandan lore and mythology while establishing new characters and new terrain. Recent news about the movie confirmed that Namor the Sub-Mariner, played by Tenoch Huerta, will be the main villain. This confirmation also tells us that Black Panther will expand its world to include Atlantis, Namor’s home and domain. Namor already exists in the comic books, but we can expect a substantial change since Namor will be integrated into the MCU.
Black Panther: Wakanda Vs Atlantis
In Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, we will see an Atlantis based on Mayan Culture instead of Ancient Greece. If the movie follows the comic book’s story, we may see Wakanda and Atlantis engage in an all-out war. Both of these countries chose to keep their secret from the outside world to keep their people safe. Since both are powerful countries with advanced technology and vast military resources, any conflict that happens between them will drastically affect everyone else. Namor has always been wary of land-dwellers, and this is proven by his fickleness, frequently changing up who he chooses to side with. Since the Black Panther doesn’t know if Namor can be trusted, he keeps secret files of Atlantean weaknesses, just in case. This was a wise move because Namor certainly has the potential to be an enemy. Twitter user @cinestealth speculates that Black Panther: Wakanda Forever will include scenes showing Namor the Sub-Mariner’s fight against the conquerors in Mexico during the Spanish Conquest. It will also be interesting to see if other characters would step up to take the helm of Black Panther. In the comics, the one character who eventually becomes the Black Panther after T’Challa is his sister, Shuri. This may be an angle the movie could take, and many fans are already hoping this would be the case.
Shuri and Queen Ramonda
The official teaser of Black Panther: Wakanda Forever brought other potential storylines to light. We may take a deeper dive into the psychology of each of the characters as they struggle to come to terms with the death of T’Challa. Shuri may be facing internal conflicts, questioning whether she is ready or worthy of taking the helm that her father and her brother took before her. Queen Ramonda may also be reaching her breaking point after losing her husband and her son. Black Panther: Wakanda Forever may just show us how the true power of women as rulers.
The Great King T’Challa
The teaser also showed us a sequence where T’Challa may be laid to rest. The entire team may have grieved for Chadwick Boseman’s death and honored him on set by immortalizing his character in the movie. How they wrote in T’Challa’s death seems also to be a great factor in the story, further extending his influence, worthy of a king.
Black Panther: Wakanda Forever Run Time
Black Panther: Wakanda Forever will have a total run time of 2 hours 36 minutes, as reported by The Direct. This total run-time makes it the longest Marvel movie to be released so far, followed closely by Iron Man, which runs at 2 hours, 6 minutes.
