Andrew Garfield took Peter Parker’s role in The Amazing Spider-Man when he was only 26, to which he admitted was a lot to take on as a young actor. Although he was ready, he admitted how much it was to take the role on for himself. Read his quote from GQ below:
Despite the pressure he felt before taking on the role, his Amazing Spider-Man franchise worked out fine, even though it didn’t get its threequel. He did, however, get to reprise his role in Tom Holland’s Spider-Man: No Way Home, thanks to the multiverse’s existence in the MCU.
Working on his Spider-Man role in both films, Garfield expresses his sentiments on how anticlimactic it was. Even after saving Zendaya’s MJ, it’s natural to feel that his Spider-Man’s arc is left unfinished in his own universe. The actor goes on to compare this feeling similar to that of going through a breakup.
